Academy Awards

___The Academy Awards are considered the main award for the US. The winners and nominees are voted by the members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The award is in the form of a gold statuette we all loving call the Oscar.

Anne has recieved five nominations for an Academy Award and has won one out of the five times.
    1963 - Anne Won the Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her portrayal of Annie Sullivan in The Miracle Worker(1962)

    1965 - Anne was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her portrayal of Jo Armitage in The Pumpkin Eater(1964)

    1968 - Anne was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her portrayal of Mrs. Robinson in The Graduate(1967)

    1978 - Anne was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her portrayal of Emma Jacklin in The Turning Point(1977)

    1986 - Anne was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading role for her portrayal of Mother Superior Miriam Ruth in Agnes of God(1985)
