British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards

___The BAFTA awards are the British version of the Oscars. The awards are voted by the members of the British Academy. The award is in the form of a statuette known as the BAFTA mask. The first awards were given out in 1948.

In 1975 Mel was nominated for the BAFTA Award for Best Screenplay for Blazing Saddles along with Norman Steinberg, Andrew Bergman, Richard Pryor, and Alan Uger.
