___Established by Dr. Donald A. Reed to honor, recognize and promote the sci-fi, fantasy and horror genres. They are today known as the Saturn Awards. The members of the Academy decide the nominations and winners. The award in the early years was known as the Golden Scroll.

Mel received the Golden Scroll in 1976 for Best Director for Young Frankenstein(1974)
