Golden Globe

___The Golden Globes are were started in 1944 by a group of stars who wanted to see what the forein press thought of the movies from the previous year. The awards are voted by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. The award is in the form of a statuette that is a globe circled by film on a pedistal.

Anne has been nominated for the Golden Globe seven times and has won two out of those seven times.
    1965 - Anne Won the Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama for her portrayal of Jo Armitage in The Pumpkin Eater(1964)
    1968 - Anne Won the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture Actress - Musical/Comedy
    1978 - Anne was nominated for the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture Actress - Drama for her portrayal of Emma Jacklin in The Turning Point(1977)
    1984 - Anne was nominated for the Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Comedy/Musical for her portrayal of Anne Bronski in To Be or Not To Be(1983)
    1985 - Anne was nominated for the Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Comedy/Musical for her portrayal of Estelle Rolf in Garbo Talks(1984)
    1986 - Anne was nominated for the Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama for her portrayal of Mother Superior Miriam Ruth in Agnes of God(1985)
    1987 - Anne was nominated for the Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama for her portrayal of Thelma Cates in 'Night Mother(1986)
